Inter Miami’s David Beckham ‘aims to land Manchester United keeper Sergio Romero’ as Argentine look to end his Old Trafford nightmare

Sergio Romero could be set to leave Old Trafford for David Beckham’s Inter Miami MLS side.
The Manchester United keeper is considered one of the best defenders in the Premier League, but is out of favor at Old Trafford.
David de Gea, Dean Henderson and Lee Grant, 37-years ahead of him in the packing order and Romero wanted to go in the summer window to get first team football.

According to Athletic, Inter Miami are keen to sign him in the January window and end his difficult spell at the club.
Romero has not been named in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Champions League Premier League teams but is currently coaching and fit to play.
Manchester United icon David Beckham is president of Inter Miami – formed in 2018 – and wants to use his United ties to buy the Argentine ahead of the start of the new season in March.
Romero, 33, has won four trophies at Old Trafford and is considered an excellent backup
But Romero is now in the fourth choice behind David de Gea (right), Dean Henderson and Lee Grant
Romero’s contract expires in June 2021, meaning clubs outside England can begin contract negotiations to sign him on a free transfer starting in January.
The Red Devils are also willing to sell the 33-year-old, but they also have the option to extend his contract by another year if they want a lot of depth and cover between the bats.
However, his current salary of around £ 100,000 a week would be barred for Beckham ‘s side by the wage restrictions in America.
The unnamed Spanish side are also in talks over a six-month loan deal, and United may prefer to move abroad for Romero.
They rejected Everton’s loan bid – including a £ 2million sweetener – in the summer of 2020 because they wanted to avoid developing what they saw as a Premier League rival.
