Assassin’s Creed Veteran writer Darby McDevitt is leaving Ubisoft, he’s got it to name.

McDevitt most recently was the documentary director of Valhalla, where his work has been praised by fans for tying and tying a number of intriguing threads from across the series ’lore.

Among the Assassin’s Creed community, McDevitt was hailed as the franchise’s master of folklore and its most recognizable chieftain – a title earned through frequent fan interactions and a half-filled resume twelve Assassin’s Creed games.

McDevitt’s first writing work for the series came through Discovery and Bloodlines Assassin’s Creed 2 in 2009. He was then lead writer for Revelations, the last game in the Ezio trilogy, and wrote the film famous shorts Embers who work as her coda.

After that, McDevitt went on to become a lead writer for Black Flag, contributing to both Unity and Origins.

Ubisoft will continue to support Valhalla’s Assassin’s Creed at least until the end of this year, with two extensions already announced.
