The Philadelphia 76ers made timely moves to bring in better scenes around their star Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid to make the offense run smoothly.
Seth Curry and Danny Green have done a great job of making sure they have the right gaps at that end of the floor.
However, the Sixers are ranked 28th in the league in 3-point attempts, averaging 29.1. Only the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers carry 3 fewer marks than Philadelphia.
When Curry, Green and Tobias Harris are at the team, they need to find ways to get an open view from depth.
“Today’s game is about getting those fringe views; we don’t have to change that much, ”said Green. “I think a lot of it changes when we move the ball. Our efforts are behind the edge as a result of ball movement or lack thereof. We don’t get much effort behind 3p because we move it too slowly or a second too slowly or we don’t move it at all. ”
The Sixers are sitting at the top of the East because of Embiid ‘s play as they have continued to find ways to put him in places to make him effective. It’s square in the MVP talks, but Philadelphia could use more effort from depth to give it even more space on the floor.
“Early in the season, we had times where we were rolling and getting away with efforts,” Green continued. “I think that needs to change a bit. I won’t say much, but we do a good job feeding and working on Joel. We found ways to work around and also get out and move swing faster to where we get a better view from the edge. ”
The Sixers will face the Utah Jazz on Monday to end the four-game road trip.
