“Danny Abdia’s Attack – One of the Highlights”

Beginning of an article

Even before Washington opened the second half of its season with a disappointing 127: 112 loss against Memphis, the team’s senior journalist Fred Katz wrote an article in Athletic in which he addressed the Wizards’ goals in the remaining months of the 2020/21 season. One of the goals he mentioned was to get Danny Abdia involved.

Already in his first game after the All-Star break Abdia recorded one of his better games in the NBA, probably in the offensive part. The Israeli finished with 13 points (5 of 8 from the field, 3 of 5 from three) in 24 minutes, when only against Miami in the opening season (20 points) he scored more. It should be noted of course that in the game against the hit Bradley Bill and Russell Westbrook did not play.

Truth be told, Abdia still didn’t seem to be part of his team’s offensive streak and for most moves stood in the corner, as we saw in most of the first half of the season. Unlike previous games, however, Abdia did manage to take advantage of the few opportunities he was given and for the first time since Feb. 4 against Miami away, sniped three threes in the game. Davis Bartans, for comparison, had seven 3+ 3-pointers in that time. In addition, Abdia has not scored 13+ points since that game, until tonight.

“Danny’s offense is one of the bright spots in the first half,” the Wizards’ Bullets Forever blog wrote. Towards the half break Abdia scored 8 speed points without a miss that helped the guest minimize damage with a 7:21 run. Overall, this was the sixth game in the Israeli NBA career with a double-digit number of points.

“The Grizzlies killed the Wizards under the basket,” NBC Washington wrote. “The Wizards were defeated 78:48 by points and 60:39 by rebounds. That’s a bad sign because on Friday we meet Joel Ambide, and on Saturday and Monday Yannis Antecompo.”

Whoever caused Washington to collapse in color was the Lithuanian chin of Memphis Jonas and Lanconas. The latter finished with 29 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks, thus recording his fourth game at the club with a 20/20 double-double. The only player in Memphis history with more games like this, is Zack Randolph (ten games). Also, the Lithuanian is the first Memphis player ever with a stat line of at least 29 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks.

“Valchenas is a great player,” he complimented Scott Brooks. “Even before the game I said that, he’s underrated. He does so many things for them, and not just the obvious things. He blocks the right timing, knows when to help and is physical. Valencia did everything he could against us and Mo Wagner did not do work. Good against him. ”

While Abdia likes to play against the Bears (10 and 13 points in the last eight days), Washington star and league basketball king Bradley Bill – less. Against all league teams except Memphis, Bill averages 33.2 points per game this season on 48% from the field and 34% off the arc, while in both games against the Grizzlies he averaged 22 points on 35% from the field and 17% from three.

Believe it or not, Bill’s percentage of three this season (33.5%) is his lowest in his career, and he’s still showing an exceptional peak season. Brooks Addressing this at the press conference, he said: “He will have a month where he will get 65% off the arc, I am waiting for that. I feel he will warm up and for a whole month he will not miss anything.” The last time the coach stepped into the Prophet’s shoes, he predicted the winning streak.

One of the actors who personally took care of Bill’s low percentage, was Dillon Brooks, Who said at the end of the game: “We’re one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.” Teammate and band leader Ja Morant tweeted: “It would be very good for Brooks to be included in one of the defensive fives of the season.”
