Danny Abdia recovered from three bad games, but Washington continued on the same losing track that entangles it deep at the bottom of the East. The Wizards hosted tonight (Tuesday through Wednesday) in New York, were defeated 131: 113 by the Knicks and suffered a ninth loss in 11 games. Abdia played 22 minutes and scored 14 points (5 of 7 from the field, 2 of 4 from three, 2 of 3 from the penalty spot) and four rebounds. The Israeli also committed six offenses for the first time in his career.

Abdia made his Madison Square Garden debut, and did not disappoint Jewish fans in the stands who wore his jersey. The Israeli recorded a bad first half in which he played only 5:19 minutes due to three early fouls, but in the second half (which was for the record only) he scored his second highest number of points in his NBA career, and also provided the two beautiful rings

Abdia’s team was not really a rival to the Knicks and Julius Randall who celebrated from the start. Tom Thibido’s side scores below 105 points per game this season, but in front of the Wizards’ defense they also allowed themselves to deviate from the norm. Julius Randall starred with 37 points, including 16 points in the third quarter in which the host finally decided the fate of this game.

Already at halftime New York led 49-69, and a spectacular three-pointer by Randall (7 of 10 from outside the arc) in the third quarter gave her a 31-point lead that eliminated any chance of Washington making a comeback. Abdia got the chance to play Garbage Time, and took it with both hands. Between Thursday and Friday, the Israeli and the Wizards will return to MSG for another game against the Knicks.

Winner Randall received assistance from Mar J. Barrett and Alec Brex who scored 21 and 20 points respectively, and also from Mitchell Robinson who in his second game since injury recorded a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. In the Wizards’ ranks in 13th place with a 27:15 balance, Bill scored 22 and Russell Westbrook finished with 14 points and 12 assists.
