Cyberpunk 2077 developers push Next-Gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Cyberpunk 2077 playable and available on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X, but this is just through backwards compatibility. These versions of the game take some advantage of the tech they’re running on, which is why the game runs much better on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. compared to Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, and PS4 Pro. That said, a proper – and free – next – gen update is in the works, and during a recent interview, Marcin Iwinski, head of CD Projekt Red, stressed this update.

Unfortunately, Iwinski didn’t say much about those versions of the open world RPG, but he insists that those versions of the game will take advantage of the capabilities and opportunities offered. In other words, these versions are likely to be less of a port, and more built from the ground up.

“So right now the game is working in backwards compatibility, and it’s working fine,” Iwinski said. “The consoles are a lot faster. And then, we’re designing a free next-gen update for everyone who owns a next-gen console. So, if you buy the game now, you can play it on the next-gen. It works well due to the higher capabilities of the new consoles. But then, with the next-gen update, we’ll use all the new functions or functions and the technical opportunities that the new platforms provide. ”

With so many performance issues and bugs at the game right now, especially on PS4 and Xbox One, a proper next-gen version of the game can’t come soon enough. That said, given the unforeseen and unprecedented issues the game has faced since its launch, who knows when those versions will arrive. It is quite possible that they will now be pushed back further as a result of the fiasco that is Cyberpunk 2077 launch.
