Covid-19 US: A NYC man in his 70s dies 25 minutes after receiving the vaccine

An elderly man fell and died in New York City Sunday morning shortly after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, officials revealed Monday.

The man, who was in his 70s, collapsed when he left the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan just 25 minutes after he was shot, New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker said in a statement.

Security at the scene and first responders rushed to his side within seconds, but the man, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly afterwards.

It is unclear at this time whether the person’s death is linked to the vaccine, with an investigation now underway.

Adverse effects of the vaccine are thought to be very rare, with these few cases usually associated with an allergic reaction called anaphylaxis.

‘The first signs are that the man has not had any effect on the vaccine,’ Zucker said, however, in his statement.

The man suddenly collapsed after a mandatory 15-minute observation period, in which he showed no ‘bad comments or worries,’ Zucker said.

The FDNY said the patient was taken to hospital with Primary Care just before 11am on Sunday, where he died shortly after his arrival.

The man’s identity has not yet been released by officials. It is also unclear what type of COVID-19 vaccine he received.

Javits Center and Zucker’s office have yet to return DailyMail.com’s request for comment on the matter.

In his statement, Zucker stressed that he and other public health experts believe the ‘vaccine’ is safe, and along with ongoing monitoring includes wearing a mask and social distance, it will end this pandemic. ‘

‘I urge all New Yorkers who deserve a vaccine,’ continued Zucker.

The Javits Center opened as a major vaccination site in January, and is among several in the New York City area. It was first used as a field hospital after the first outbreak of pandemic coronavirus hit last spring.

To date nearly a million people in New York City have been vaccinated, with 1.5 million residents receiving the first doses nationwide.

Across the U.S., the daily number of people receiving the vaccine is now far higher than the numbers infected, with the country receiving an average of 1.3 million views per day.

To date nearly 42 million doses have been given.

At least one dose of vaccine was administered to 31,579,100 million people, which equates to 9.6 percent of the population.

Just over 9,147,000 Americans have now received both doses of vaccine, accounting for 2.78 percent of the population.

Adverse effects of the vaccine are considered to be very rare, with these few cases usually associated with allergic reactions.

Since the vaccine rollout began in December, however, a handful of hitherto unexplained deaths include those who have recently received a COVID shot.

Over the weekend, Virginia Minister Drene Keyes, 58, died less than a day after receiving a dose of the Pfizer vaccine at a clinic in Warsaw on Friday and falling ill.

Officials said they did not know the cause of her death, any underlying conditions Keyes may have had contributed to, and said there was no evidence to show that she passed connected to the vaccine.

'The first signs are that the man has not had any effect on the vaccine,' Zucker said, however, in his statement.

Similar to what happened Sunday in New York City, Keyes stayed at the clinic for 15 minutes after the photo, as suggested, before returning to the clinic later in the day.

She was taken to VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital, where she died on Saturday.

‘Initial findings showed that anaphylaxis was not the cause of death, but it will take several weeks for additional information to become available,’ said Warsaw police chief Joan Kent.

‘We can confirm that the death occurred within hours of receiving the vaccine, but that is not evidence that it is related. We are currently investigating and do not yet know the cause of death. ‘

Kent continued: ‘Our thoughts are with the family at this time of heartbreak,’ the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a statement. ‘The CDC is closely monitoring the safety of all vaccines, and we are actively working with Virginia officials to fully investigate the situation.’

Apparently, in California last month, Tim Zook, a 60-year-old X-ray technician at the Global Coast Medical Center in Santa Ana, died on Jan. 7 two days after receiving a second dose of a Pfizer image.

He had written on Facebook the day of his vaccination that he had ‘never been so happy to get a bullet before and indicated that he was‘ fully vaccinated. ‘

However, within hours the father of three apparently suffered side effects, telling colleagues that he had sharp stomach pains and had respiratory problems.

After his symptoms worsened, his cooks walked over to the emergency room where he was airlifted four hours after his arrival.

The Orange County crown said the cause of Zook’s death is currently uncertain and will take more toxicology tests to complete months. If there is a relationship with the vaccine, the office said they will contact the OC Healthcare Group.

In a statement to DailyMail.com at the time, a Pfizer spokesman said the company is aware of Zook’s death and is also investigating the case.

Pfizer said: ‘Our thoughts are immediately with the lost family. We closely monitor such incidents and collect relevant information to share with global regulatory authorities.

‘Based on ongoing safety reviews performed by Pfizer, BioNTech and health authorities, BNT162b2 maintains a positive risk-benefit profile for the prevention of COVID-19 infections. Dangerous adverse events, including non-vaccine-related deaths, are unfortunately likely to occur at the same rate as they would in the general population. ‘

Zook ‘s wife, Rochelle Zook, told the Register that her family did not blame any pharmaceutical company. ‘

‘My husband liked what he did,’ she said. He worked in hospitals for 36 1/2 years. He believed in vaccines. I’m sure he would take that vaccine again, and he wanted the public to take it.

‘But when someone gets symptoms 2 1/2 hours after a vaccine, that’s a reaction. What else could have happened? We want the public to know what happened to Tim, so he did not die in vain. Adverse reactions are rare. In fact, COVID is a much more lethal force than reactions from the vaccine itself.

‘The message is, stay safe, get vaccinated – but officers need to do more research. We need to know the reason. Vaccines need to be as safe as possible. Every life matters. ‘

For the first time in three months on Sunday, the U.S. reported less than 100,000 new COVID-19 cases per day, with hospitals also falling as vaccine distribution was gaining momentum.

Just over 96,000 new cases and 1,474 deaths were reported nationwide Sunday, according to an account by the COVID tracking project.

These latest figures have brought U.S. total numbers to more than 26.99 million cases and 463,339 deaths to date.

Hospitals also fell with 81,439 patients admitted as Sunday – the fourth consecutive day by less than 90,000 after two months above that threshold.
