NASA’s Mars Perseverance conservatory is equipped with solemn scientific equipment, which is tasked with collecting rock samples from the Red Planet for research on Earth. However, those are not the only things the rover is carrying. NASA has revealed that its rover also carries symbols, logos and materials that range from everything practical to things that are fun too.
According to a recitation with NASA, the ‘extra’ bags the rover carries are part of a legacy dating back to the early age of space. It even has its own NASA lingo called ‘festooning’.
As per NASA, a record on board Pioneer 10 and 11 shows a man and a woman from a distance astronauts who may have found the spacecraft. Similarly, the Gold Table on board Voyager 1 and 2 serves the same purpose. In Opportunity and Spirit Rovers contains metal from the wreck of the Twin Towers on 9/11 in total, Spirit also contains a monument to the Columbia Space Shuttle team.
Speaking of which, Jim Bell, from, Arizona State University, who helped advance almost all of NASA ‘s Mars rovers, says the decorations add art elements to it. missions filled with science and tech, coupled with enduring obedience to colleagues who helped create a way for human exploration of space.

Mastcam-Z made you look
Perseverance’s main eye, the instrument’s main calibration target, is also doubling as a sight for educational purpose, incorporating color and grayscale swatches. Looking for SHERLOC
People often use a GPS capture device of a mobile device to hide and locate a container. This is called Geocaching. Now a special geocache on board Perseverance makes it one of the most remote of its kind. Made of helmet-visor material and written with the instrument’s fictional name address, its part of the calibration target is for SHERLOC (Scanning Normal Environments with Raman & Luminescence for Organics & Chemicals), an instrument at the end of 7- feet Perseverance -long (3-meter long) robotic arm.
