T.Australian Open quarantine facilities still hold 15 people, including one player and two others who tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in their lockout, Melbourne health authorities said Sunday.
Most of the more than 1,000 players and entrants who were under 14 days of loneliness in Melbourne and Adelaide were released by midnight on Saturday and have begun preparing for the Grand Slam.
Paula Badosa of Spain was the only player to confirm a positive test for Covid-19 in Melbourne, restarting the clock on her solo rape period.
Victoria said on Sunday that the virus had not been passed on locally for the 29th straight day and Australian Open competition chief Craig Tiley said the health of the local community was a priority for his group.
“No one comes out of quarantine unless it is completely proven that they do not contain the virus,” he told ABC TV on Sunday.
