Tragedy in Kfar Saba: A pregnant woman, a Corona patient, arrived at Meir Medical Center today (Saturday) at week 36 of her pregnancy, due to the lack of fetal movements. An examination revealed that the fetus was lifeless. According to the medical center, at this stage there was no choice but to give birth to the woman. Laboratory tests performed revealed that the fetus was also apparently infected by its mother and had been verified with the corona virus.
As you may recall, in recent weeks there has been a dramatic increase in the numbers of pregnant women who become infected with corona and reach a difficult situation. Earlier this week, Osnat Ben Sheetrit, a 32-year-old young corona patient who was in the 30th week of her pregnancy, died in the intensive care unit at Hadassah Hospital. The hospital staff’s efforts to revive the fetus were also unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has updated the virus morbidity data, which shows that 3,690 verified corona cases were detected yesterday out of 64,308 tests. The rate of positive results stands at 5.9 percent. The total number of active patients is 39,756, of whom 760 are in critical condition and 244 are respiratory. During the weekend, 31 patients died and the total number of deaths rose to 5,726.
