The rising trend in morbidity continues: The Ministry of Health updated this morning (Thursday) that 2,802 people have been diagnosed in the last day as positive for Corona. This is the second day in a row of more than 2,800 patients, after 2,862 new infections were diagnosed yesterday. The Corona Cabinet is expected to convene on Sunday to discuss the transition to “tight restraint” and the imposition of additional restrictions.
3.5% of the total 82,296 tests performed yesterday were defined as positive – a rate similar to that recorded the previous day. 400 patients in Israel are hospitalized in critical condition, of whom 150 are respirators. A total of 3,033 people have died from the virus so far. 51 localities in Israel are defined as red, 59 are defined as orange, and 114 are defined as yellow localities.
The negative trend continues against the background of the government’s preparations to impose new restrictions in its wake, as part of the “tightened restraint” outline. According to estimates, the trading industry is expected to close due to the increase in morbidity.
