Corona Hotels: The Minister of Health has decided to abolish the isolation of returnees from abroad

End of the Corona Hotels: Health Minister Yuli Edelstein decided today (Tuesday) to abolish the compulsory isolation of returnees from abroad. “Anyone who is allowed to enter the country should have an immediate examination, and go out for home isolation for two weeks or ten days if he does another examination on the ninth day.”

Yesterday, dozens of isolators at the Leonardo Hotel in Jerusalem tried to escape the isolation at the Corona Hotel. The security guards at the scene pushed them back to the hotel and a riot broke out.

Yuval Peretz, who is isolated at the hotel, told News 12 that “the doors are being closed on us and we are threatening to receive reports and be arrested if we do not go up to the room.” Peretz added that she has been at the hotel since Saturday: “We were worked on to see an exceptional committee that left the airport. In the end we were convinced and of course no committee and no shoes for three days. There are people from outside here who came to demonstrate and support us.”

Concurrent with the riots that erupted at the hotel, Deputy Health Minister Yoav Kish yesterday called on his Twitter account to abolish the obligation to insulate in hotels and move to a model of home insulation. “In light of the scenario, he explained that the vaccines are also effective in the fear of being infected with the mutation. It is correct to switch to home isolation and stop the isolation in hotels,” Kish wrote.

Meanwhile, dozens of passengers who returned to Israel from abroad waited yesterday for an exceptions committee that will allow them to avoid traveling to the Corona hotels. The long queues at the airport were uploaded to social networks and high density was observed.

Despite this, after assessing the current situation of Defense Minister Bnei Gantz with professionals in the defense system, the Minister announced that the Ministry of Defense’s “Wings of Force” layout should be returned immediately as presented in the Corona Cabinet, while adapting to the new reality of isolation. According to this outline – anyone who returns to Israel and agrees to undergo a corona examination at the airport, will be referred for home isolation while accompanied and assisted by the project representative in his locality of residence. Ganz argued that he would not support the cabinet in extending the isolation in hotels.
