Conor McGregor insists he will win the boxing world title and believes a fight against Manny Pacquiao will take place this year.
The UFC superstar will return to mixed martial arts action on Jan. 24 in a rematch by Dustin Poirier, which he put off in a 2014 performance.
McGregor lost his first boxing tour in an extravaganza of a fight against Floyd Mayweather three years later but expects to return to the ring later in 2021.

“I know that conversations are becoming increasingly intense [a fight] this year, “the Irishman told his personal website Life of a Son about Pacquiao.
“I’m excited for Manny Pacquiao’s bout and it looks like it’s going to happen this year. What time this year? I’m not sure.
“We need to have good discussions with Dana White and the UFC and see where it goes.
“I’m open to everyone, ready for it.
“I will definitely get a boxing world title before I add a day. And I would have been excited to do that against Emmanuel Pacquiao.”

Pacquiao’s boxing legend currently holds a WBA welterweight competition – now at the age of 42, he has held a world title in each of the last four decades.
Pacquiao lost the richest fight ever against Mayweather in six years.
He hasn’t been fighting since he ended up with Keith Thurman’s undefeated climb in July 2019 but has recently expressed interest in meeting McGregor under MMA rules.
“Right now I want to experience fighting in MMA,” Pacquiao told the Filipino news revolution BusinessMirror in McGregor.
They share Audie Attar at Paradigm as manager, he said recently Bloomberg: “Conor wants to fight Manny. Manny has come out and said he wants to fight Conor. As I have said publicly before, we have had conversations.
“That’s a fight we’re definitely going to have because both fighters want it, and it seems to be of interest to fans all over the world.”
McGregor and Pacquiao got into a cross-code fight a year ago, following the Irishman’s most recent UFC victory.
