Colin Jost skewers Capitol riots ‘chewing and kissing’ on SNL

Saturday Night Live Donald Trump’s comment last week on how far-right protesters stormed the Capitol building in January had been “mocking and kissing” police that day.

During the “Weekend Update”, co-host Colin Jost threw a crack “I’m not surprised that Donald Trump can’t tell the difference between a kiss and an assault.”

The injection drew great laughter and joy from the audience.

“Some of them have gone in and … are mocking and kissing the police and the guards,” the former US president told Fox News this week about the protesters. “You know, they had good relationships.”

Reducing public activity on the day, Mr Trump said the U.S. Capitol Police Department had “contributed a lot”.

“A lot of the people were put in and then they walked in and walked out,” Mr. Trump told Laura Ingraham,

The comments come after a confession by working with U.S. Capitol police chief Yogananda Pittman that the force did not do “enough” on the day of the riot, which left five dead.

Another joke through the “Weekend Update” section covered this week’s Filibuster debate as Virginia abolished the health penalty.

“Some Democrats are calling on the Senate to suspend Filibuster’s rule, which some call Jim Crow’s memory. The remains of Jim Crow too? Some Senators! ”Said co-guest Michael Che.

“Virginia is the first southern state to abolish the death penalty. So if you will excuse me, I have some white women for whistling, ”said Che.
