The first semifinal series of the Lock Series of the League of Legends Championship began in 2021 with Cloud9 on the back leg. 100 thieves started the day with a backhand win. With the score reading 2-0, Q9 was just one loss away from getting out.

However, the blue squad gathered behind star player Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen to win three games in a row and secure a place in the finals.

The results from the five-game series are:

  • Game 1 – 100 thieves started the day with a 26-minute victory over Cloud9 (1-0)
  • Game 2 – 100 thieves secured the lead after this 31-minute League of Legends game (2-0)
  • Game 3 – Cloud9 started building a rally behind their AD Carry Zven to pull one game back in the series after a 38 minute marathon of a game (2-1)
  • Game 4 – The last game saw 100 thieves trying very hard to close the series. However, Cloud9 held on and managed to pull off the series level after 32 minutes into the fourth game.

After a nightmare start from Cloud9 in the first two games, the blue brigade came back stomping with multiple pentakills from their AD carry. Zven’s performance in the last three games of the League of Legends series has earned him the “Player of the Series” award.
