Avishai Gordon closed the circle. The former team captain, who experienced quite a few great moments with the club, replaced Lior Lubin, and was appointed the team’s coach until the end of the season. Remember, Lubin joined Oded Katash’s coaching staff at Panathinaikos when he became an assistant coach at the Greek luxury club.
Gordon served as the team captain and even won the national championship (2010) and the Balkan league championship (2012) with it. Between 2016 and 2020, Gordon coached Hapoel Galil Elyon from the national league and even reached the playoff finals, but lost to Maccabi Haifa two years ago. At the end of the previous season, he was replaced by Barak Peleg and has not coached any team since. Now, he has received the biggest invitations in his career.
