Chris Gayle crushed nine sixes when he hit 84no off just 22 balls to inspire Team Abu Dhabi to a terrific nine-wicket victory over Maratha Arabians, in the Abu Dhabi T10.

Running 98 to win, Team Abu Dhabi got home just 5.3 overs when Gayle moved to fifty in just 12 balls – an action he previously accomplished in 2016 while playing for the Melbourne Renegades against Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League.

The fastest half-century in international T20 cricket also came off 12 balls – Yuvraj Singh of India invades England in 2007.

As expected, the 41-year-old Gayle finished the game with six finishes on a strike rate of 381.82 – a figure turned by six fours.

Paul Stirling (11 out of five) and Englishman Joe Clarke (five who were not out) had the best seats in the house, and Ben Duckett and Sam Billings were not needed – the next two bats was to come in.

Among the meatballs, Sompal sailor Kami admitted 27 runs over while Mosaddek Hossain went for 22. In the context of the match, 16-year-old 16-footed Maroof Merchant was an excellent in taking 15 off his one over.

Only Nicholas Pooran has scored more runs from fourteen than sixteen than his West Indian counterpart Gayle in Abu Dhabi T10 innings – his 89 members from 24 for the Northern Warriors against the Bangla Tigers lead into 84 runs from boundaries, with Gayle catching up 78.
