China’s exports increased significantly in 2020

BEIJING – China reported higher-than-last-year exports, fueling the country’s economy which is expected to be the only major force for reported growth in 2020.

China’s exports for 2020 rose 3.6% from a year earlier to a historic high, data from the General Administration of Customs showed Thursday.

China’s imports fell 1.1% last year, resulting in an annual trade surplus of $ 535.03 billion.

In December, China’s outdoor transportation rose 18.1% from a year earlier. That compared to a 21.1% rise in November and the median forecast of a 12.9% rise with economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal.

Imports rose 6.5% last month, better than a 4.5% rise in November and economists expect a 5.1% rise.

December trade surplus was at $ 78.17 billion, up from $ 75.42 billion in November and economists forecast it at $ 72 billion.
