Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi says Blues players are ‘letting go’ of a 3-1 loss to Arsenal

Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi says the Blues ‘players are’ letting ourselves down ‘in a 3-1 disappointing loss to Arsenal … and insisting the side will’ keep pushing until we reach number one ‘

Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi has admitted that the players let themselves down during their 3-1 disappointing loss to Arsenal on Saturday.

Prior to the game Mikel Arteta’s side had gone seven games from the Premier League without a win, but Chelsea went down 3-0 before a late console came from Tammy Abraham.

Blues boss Frank Lampard shook his side as ‘lazy’ after their poor performance, who was angry at the way his side went to the game at the Emirates.

And winger Hudson-Odoi, who set up Abraham’s goal, agreed with Lampard that his side started on the wrong foot.

He said after the game: ‘It feels like we’re letting down. We know we can do much better. We should have put the same energy we had in the second half into the first half as well – we should have gotten the same idea from get-go.

‘We started too slowly, we all know that. We knew from the start that it was going to be a difficult game no matter what. They are Arsenal, they are a good team.

‘Wherever we are in the league we are going to keep going until we get to number one and no matter what the game is, we are Chelsea, we are to do our best every game no matter what.

‘We don’t want to lose. That’s Chelsea’s mind, we always want to win. So when we lose or make a mistake or two, we are all frustrated with ourselves. When we win we are always happy, when we lose we are disappointed, so we want to get back to winning ways and stay happy. ‘

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Xhaka and Bukayo Saka folded the game at 3-0 after 56 minutes.
