Celtics exercise options on Grant, Robert Williams, Romeo Langford

To make it a little surprising, the Boston Celtics have built their selections on big men Robert Williams III, Grant Williams and second-year wing Romeo Langford on Tuesday all-round, a result expected due to the strong play of the three when they are healthy.

Time Lord – as the Texas A&M hyper-athletic product is sometimes called – has revealed flavors at the end of last season and the beginning of this one of being a big starter with a better passing, shooting, and more importantly defense, but missed a big chunk of the 2019-20 season due to injury. Similarly, Langford’s rookie season has been marred by a litany of unfortunate minor injuries that have been fueled by a torn tendon on which he is still recovering.

Grant Williams, on the other hand, has been a picture of health since joining the team, and all three have shown that they can stay on the floor and help a senior team.

For that reason, the choices made today by the Celtics were more formal than anything else – but perhaps a vote of confidence in Langford and Robert Williams’ ability to stay healthy moving forward.
