Celtic Jaylen Brown scored 30 points on Christmas Day 2019

Just a year ago on this day, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown went on to become the youngest player in franchise history to earn at least 30 points in a Christmas Day game.

The impressive feat in an 118 – 102 win came just as impressively over defending champion Toronto Raptors, and saw Georgia’s native score 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in just under 35 minutes of play time. Just 23 years old at the time, Brown tied the Celtic legend Jo Jo White for the eighth point scoring holiday in franchise history, just dragging Tommy Heinsohn, Kyrie Irving, Bob Cousy , Bill Russell and Rajon Rondo.

On rough air for a player still on his rookie contract, Cal-Berkeley’s production will have a chance to go for even more that day later in the afternoon when the Brooklyn Nets take on Boston – and Brown with vice-captain Irving on his new team.

Watch the video above if you want to relive that glorious performance – or to get yourself in the right place for today’s game.
