New U.S. guidelines open the door to a return to normalcy, but masks should still be worn in certain circumstances.
Fully vaccinated people in the United States can gather with other vaccinated people indoors without wearing a mask or social distance, the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a guide released Monday.
“We know that people want to be vaccinated so that they can get back to doing what they love with their loved ones,” said CDC Director Dr Rochelle Walensky. in a statement.
The guidelines say that people who are fully vaccinated can:
- Visit with others with full in-house vaccination without wearing masks or body lotion
- Visit with unvaccinated people from one home who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 infection indoors without wearing masks or body distance
- Do not discontinue quarantine and test after known exposure if it is asymptomatic
The guidance also states that fully vaccinated people can visit unvaccinated people from a single household where there is no significant risk of COVID-19.
“For example, fully vaccinated grandparents can visit with the unvaccinated healthy daughter and her healthy children without wearing masks or body packs, as long as none of the unvaccinated family members are in. risk of COVID-19 infection, ”the guidelines say.

However, people with full vaccines should continue to wear “masks, maintain physical speed, and use other preventative measures when visiting unvaccinated people from many homes”, as well as ” personal and medium-sized collections ”, says the CDC.
The news is an attempt to answer a growing number of questions about what it means to be fully vaccinated, as adults grow tired of more than a year’s social isolation, and in some cases, separation from friends and family.
A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving two doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, or the same dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The CDC says about 9 percent of the U.S. population, or about 30 million people, have received a full vaccine.
As vaccines become more widely available, some states are easing restrictions, contrary to the recommendation of health officials.
Texas and Mississippi have lifted mask orders and opened 100 percent, though officials are concerned that viral changes resulting from other behavior mutations could cause them.
The U.S. leads the world in coronavirus cases and COVID-19 deaths.
More than 525,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the U.S., which saw more than 29,000,000 confirmed diseases, according to a Johns Hopkins University account.
