Since its launch Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 13 million copies of the game. Despite being one of the best-selling games of the year, CyberPunk 2077 is believed to have failed to launch among the gaming community.
Adding to the developer’s loopholes, investors in the company have filed a lawsuit against CD Projekt for allegedly misleading investors with the game’s capabilities.
CD Projekt Sues With Deposit Over The Shadow Of CyberPunk 2077 Launch
As reported by The Verge, the lawsuit filed by the investors alleges that Projekt ‘s CD misled them about the game’ s performance before it was released. This, in turn, led to a sharp decline in stock prices for the company in the stock market, causing a loss.
The lawsuit alleges that the game is “almost unplayable,” saying the developers are instead misleading investors.. According to the complaint, CD Projekt showed that CyberPunk 2077 was going to be successful with a few issues that players were not expected to notice.
When launched, the game was found to be full of errors, especially in the form of glitches that quickly went viral in the gaming community. Now working hard to resolve the issues, CD Projekt was also against a huge demand for a refund from those who had pre-booked the game. The outburst was so great that Sony had to pull the game out of its store last week and began processing digital rebates for dissatisfied buyers.

Instead of real-time performance of the game, the high sales were driven by the massive marketing of the game that the developers did for over a year. That’s right, given that the game took eight years to make and was visited as one of the most popular games in the gaming community for a decade.
The Verge said Andrew Trampe, the planner in this case, is aiming to involve other investors of the company in the lawsuit to turn it into a class action.
