CBS Sitcom ‘Mom’ to be decided after 8 seasons

CBS has announced that old Chuck Lorre is a multi-camera comedian Mom, which ended in September 2013, which officially ends after 8 seasons on May 6th. The news comes after co-director Anna Faris chose not to continue as Christy Plunkett, daughter of Bonnie Plunkett Allison Janney, last season.

at first Mom followed Faris’ Christy, a single mother of two and an alcoholic, who is trying to repair the relationship with her now solemn mother while dealing with Violet (Sadie Calvano) pregnancy her teenage daughter. Through it all, Christy and Bonnie rely on their support system from Alcoholics Anonymous, including Mimi Kennedy as the wise mother Marjorie.

Half way through the running, focus series Mom transferred to Christy and Bonnie’s weekly group, featuring the additions of Jaime Pressly as a wealthy and influential Jill and Kirsten Johnston as Tammy’s kooky ex-con.

Chuck Lorre, Gemma Baker and Nick Bakay. “From the beginning, we started telling stories about alcohol and slavery that are only featured in a network comedy series. Whether it was the emotional thoughts of the live audience on a night of tape inside Level 20, or conversations at the White House about the opioid crisis, or the personal stories we get in the media socially, we are proud to know it Mom has had a positive impact on so many lives. We are always grateful to our wonderful stars and guests, amazing writers, and the amazing team for going on this trip with us.

This May, Mom it is expected to end with around 170 half-hour events. There is no word in which Anna Faris will return for the final program.
