Catalan government approves 2021 Spanish GP

The government of Catalonia has allowed the organizers of the Spanish Grand Prix to agree to a contract extension with Formula One for 2021.

The May 9 race at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona is listed as the subject of a contract on a temporary 23-round sport calendar.

The regional government said in a statement that it had allowed Circuits de Catalunya SL to sign the upgrade.

“The signature promises to mark the 31st consecutive edition of this event at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya,” he said.

“The F1 Grand Prix is ​​an asset that contributes to Catalonia’s global position in the fields of tourism and cars.”
