Carlo Ancelotti is making a circuit claim over Everton Lossl and Virginia keepers

Carlo Ancelotti says he would like to extend his keeper rotation policy to include giving game time to Jonas Lossl and Joao Virginia.

But the Everton boss has suggested he will find it difficult to offer minutes to one man right now.

Ancelotti dropped Jordan Pickford to the bench for the second time this season to play Robin Olsen on loan against Leicester City in midweek.

The Blues manager has confirmed that Pickford will return to the starting line-up for tonight’s game with Arsenal but it looks like Ancelotti is desperate to turn those two keepers on a regular basis.

Ancelotti would also like to include Lossl – who has not yet played for the club – and Virginia in that turn but who admits it is difficult to find a place for them.

Asked how Pickford made Olsen’s decision to play against Leicester, the manager said: “I spoke to him. [Pickford] before Newcastle and before the game against Leicester.

“He understood, it works well, he’s a professional.

“I think he knows that the gamekeeper he works with is a good keeper.

“It was my desire to give Lossl and Virginia opportunities too as they are good keepers and professionally trained but unfortunately I can’t do what I want sometimes.”
