Car World Plan: Car of the Year 2020

Beginning of an article

The year 2020 in the automotive industry was challenging, complex and unpredictable in Israel and around the world. The effects of the Corona virus have buried businesses and shaken sales charts like no crisis has done before, except for that traumatic event in 2008 that rocked the global economy and led large and small carmakers to bankruptcy. It was a year in which automakers also mobilized in favor of the war on the virus and converted production lines of iron and metals in favor of manufacturing protective masks, while others who could not help felt the damage caused by the plague and were forced to shut down factories, lay off workers and reduce agencies.

In Israel, too, we have experienced, up close, the consequences of the corona. In the annual summary, however, it appears that importers have managed to cope in a calculated way with the withdrawal from the sales halls by digital solutions and year-end promotions that have returned little, albeit at a later stage, back to customers with last-minute innovations; Many who could not exercise the annual trip option due to the closures and sky lock and were hungry for compensation, diverted their resources to purchase a new car and the options were many and good. Apparently, the second percentage decline amounted to only 14% and total sales piled up to 220,000.

In the last chapter of 2020, we present you with an annual summary of car activity in the country in a special closing program that also includes the ‘Choice of the car of the year for sports surfers 5’. All the new cars that participated in the poll arrived in the country during the past 12 months. As part of the program, you can also watch special interviews about the electric vehicle industry, the leasing market, traffic police activities (reports) and more.

The ‘Car World’ team wishes all followers and surfers a successful 2021 year from the coming year. Hoping for healthier and more pleasant days.
