Caf Champions League: Simba SC will go a long way if they play as Miquissone – Samatta

Captain Taifa Stars’ father praises the Mozambican singer after his superb performance against African giants

Ally Pazi Samatta, the father of Tanzanian captain Mbwana Samatta, has named Luis Miquissone as the player who made the difference for Simba SC against Al Ahly in their Caf Champions League match.

The Msimbazi giants picked up a historic 1-0 win against Egypitn’s outfit in their first Group A meeting played in front of 30,000 fans at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.

Miquissone made the difference as he scored the only goal of the game in the 31st minute, turning beautifully after an exchange with midfielder Clatous Chama, before putting out a strong effort who passed defenders Al Ahly and goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy to the post just before he sank into the net.

According to Samatta, whose son Mbwana has a six-month loan contract to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe in the Super Lig, the Mozambican player was the reason Simba bothered the African champions saying he confronted them without fear and that he addressed them when he was on the ball.

The elder Samatta has further said that if all Simba players turn out in the remaining games as Miquissone did against the Red Devils, then they will go a long way in the tournament. .

“It simply came to our notice then [Miquissone] a short image didn’t stop him from slipping down Al Ahly’s defensive line, he wasn’t afraid to dribble past them, he wasn’t afraid to take them forward, that’s the confidence of his kind, ”said Samatta Sokalabongo.

“Miquissone wasn’t afraid of the game at all and that’s why he played with confidence, they have to be all players so I believe they can do something away if he can. the players reproduce what Luis did, take courage and take the lead.

“He did his job well, he never gave Al Ahly players a place to get the ball, and to top it all off, he got a really good goal, it was his day. , he’s the man of the game if you ask me, he gave them hell of a time, I know they’re still thinking about it wherever they are. ”

Samatta’s feelings come after Al Ahly Pitso Mosimane coach named Miquissone and Kenyan defender Joash Onyango as the players who helped Simba win the battle.

“Simba managed to play hard and defend well for the whole 90 minutes,” said Mosimane.

“They were careful to save all the dangerous balls that came in their goal, there were dangerous players at number 11 [Miquissone] and 16 [Onyango]. ”

The win allowed Simba to move to the top of the group on six points from two games while Al Ahly are second on three points from two games.
