Although she did not play tonight (Monday), the main story of the 24th round of the Premier League is the continuation of Liverpool’s relegation. Thanks to Chelsea’s 0-2 win over Newcastle, and West Ham’s 0-3 win over Sheffield United, the English champions have officially dropped to sixth place in the table. The blues and hammers took fourth and fifth places respectively.

Chelsea – Newcastle 0: 2
The blues are still invincible under Thomas Tuchel. Moreover, in the six games in which the German stood on the lines in all the factories, Chelsea conceded just one goal. Once again, the Londoners maintained the good ability under Tuchel and beat Newcastle Stamford Bridge 0-2, with both goals scored in the first half. Olivier Giroud scored first when he was as usual in the right place at the right time and pushed a return ball.

In the 39th minute Chelsea celebrated their second of the game. The one who was especially happy was the goal scorer, Timo Werner. It is no secret that there were high expectations from the German striker who arrived last summer from Leipzig for 53 million euros. Werner, who has scored just four league goals in 22 appearances so far this evening, was one of the critics of the English media and fans of the team. Therefore, the German had many reasons to celebrate his first goal in the Premier League in three months, and exactly 1000 minutes and 100 days.

The win lifted Tuchel’s side to fourth in the table with 42 points, four less than second-placed Manchester United. Newcastle in 17th place with 25 points, seven from the red line.

West Ham – Sheffield United 0: 3
The Hammers hosted the team from last place in the table to a game where no result other than a victory would have been obtained. Indeed, David Moyes’ side did not have much difficulty against Sheffield and took the lead in the 41st minute from a Declan Rice penalty, for which it was the first goal of the season.

In the second half West Ham doubled the lead, which is another debut goal. Isa Diop rose above all to a corner kick from Arun Cresswell and doubled the score for the host. In the 96th minute, Ryan Fredericks finished a nice move with an excellent kick and set the score of the game. 0: 3 to West Ham.

The Londoners climbed to fifth place in the table with 42 points at the expense of Liverpool, which has 40. Sheffield remains deep in last place in the table with 11 points, 14 points away from a safe haven.
