Bryson DeChambeau complained of illness after his second round at the Masters
Bryson DeChambeau offered a strange explanation for his illness at the Masters, claiming that his spells were the result of his “working brain”.
DeChambeau underwent tests for coronavirus after his second round at Augusta National after complaining of feeling unwell and, after a negative test, ended a disappointing contest. in tie for 34th place.
The U.S. Open champion then had a series of additional tests to determine the cause of his symptoms, and his medical team concluded that his brain had been “crazy overworking” in preparation for the final major final. of 2020.

“I went to several doctors trying to figure out what it was,” said DeChambeau, whose next show will be at Saudi International full of stars, live on Sky Sports Golf from February 4-7.
“I had a couple of MRIs, went to an in-house ear doctor, did eye and ear tests, and even did an ultrasound of my heart and neck.

“But one thing I can tell you is that I’ve done a lot of brain training, and the frontal lobe of my brain was working really, really hard. That’s what gave me weird symptoms. It seemed to work too much.
“It was really uplifting. I don’t think that was exactly the special thing. But it was a combination of a number of things that got worse in my brain, working too much and just giving up.
“As I started to calm my brain a bit and get into a more comfortable position and into a good sleeping routine, many of those symptoms disappeared.
“They come back once in a while, but as I breathe a lot it goes away and that’s what I focus on trying to do now. “

DeChambeau remains confident his extra power will take him to the top of the global rankings despite Dustin Johnson’s current leadership, with his main goal of recording a 210mph ball speed with his driver.
The 27-year-old has worked with World Long Drive champion Kyle Berkshire in action and has consistently reached 200mph on the field, despite peaking at 194mph at the Sentry Championships last week at Kapalua.
“That just shows you how the brain regenerates you,” DeChambeau said. “It goes ‘no, I have to hit it just because I’m a professional golfer and I still have to keep playing every hole’.
“So you kind of lose that ability to free yourself and let go. I can get over 200mph, without any problem, so it’s just about how I can get that on the golf course now. “
