Brooks: “Danny Abdia has grown up tonight”

After nearly two months out of the top five, Danny Abdia took advantage early in the morning (Sunday) of the absence of Bradley Bill (who was given a rest) to return to the floor right from the opening in Washington’s dramatic loss, 121: 115 against the Greek freak Milwaukee.

The Israeli rookie won this time for 35 minutes and responded with 9 points (4 from 10 from the field, 1 from 6 from the three), 4 rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, losses and 5 offenses, two of which are especially critical. Russell Westbrook did it all on the field with 42 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists, Roy Chimura finished with 29 points and 11 rebounds.

In closing, coach Steve Brooks addressed the graph of improving Abdia’s ability, but also a number of questionable whistles in the deciding minutes. “Danny grew up tonight. It was a hard whistle there at the end (against Middleton), but it was Allstar he kept at the end and sometimes your hand is caught that way when you try to steal the ball. I didn’t think to challenge that move because I had to stop “Time and I thought I saw a touch. I definitely think Danny and Roy grew up tonight.”

On the fact that the Wizards players tried to foul Yannis Antocompo to send him to the line at the last minute: “We did foul, but for some reason, the referees did not want to whistle. Two players touched and pushed Yannis before he released the ball. Hello, it’s Paul. On the other side was “A foul on Russell, in both cases the referees did not whistle … I understand that it is difficult to judge an aggressive player like Russell, but I know what I saw. These were supposed to be two free throws.”

“I do not believe in moral victories,” concluded Danny Abdia’s coach, “but I am proud of the players. I found a quintet that gave a fight. It was a big effort against a team that could easily have reached the final in the last two years. In the end one team has to lose.”
