‘Bridgerton’ star Rege-Jean Page claims to be a ‘regular’ on ‘SNL’

February 21 (UPI) – Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page mocked him about his new heart status when hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend.

“You may recognize me from Bridgerton, the show that got everyone texting their moms saying: ‘You know what? Never mind. I don’t think we should watch this together, ‘”Page said in his monologue as the audience screamed and cheered.

“It’s a small show and because of that people might associate me with being like this smoky, sensible, foggy show of a man,” he laughed. “But I assure you, no in me but a regular man. ”

Page then turned and looked straight into the camera as soft music began to play.

“I’m here to show you a great time,” he said in a sultry voice. “I want us to have fun together, exploring each other. Do you like that? So I bet you can tell from my accent that I’m from Shondaland. “

SNL Team members Aidy Bryant and Ego Nwodim came out then, laughing and dressing glamorously while quietly announcing that they are there to help him with anything he needs.

“I’ve been getting a lot of this energy lately, but both of you can relax,” Page said. “I’m nothing like my character, the Duke. I am shy and emotional. It’s hard to talk about myself because I just want to listen. ”

Produced by Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton is a romantic drama set in a wealthy 19th century English society. It ended last year on Netflix.

Page won the SAG Award for its portrayal of Simon, Duke of Hastings.

SNL presented with a sketch by Pete Davidson and Mikey Day as close-knit coordinators with a background in special effects and explosives, which seeks to establish a love scene between Duke and Daphne (Chloe Fineman).

Uncle’s and nephew’s members were called in after routine workers were exposed to COVID-19 during coronavirus fundraising.

The newbies are kicked after they are spoiled with their suggestions on how the film should be filmed, but they return when it turns out that they are also the production’s replacement artists.
