Netflix’s new bodice-ripper has an interesting backdrop: Though Bridgerton based on a series of books by the writer Julia Quinn, a new one Shondaland change was inspired by the idea that Queen Charlotte (wife of King George III) was, of course, England’s first bilingual. This is an idea that seems to have been circulating around royal historians since 1940, and one that is relatively controversial, with historians arguing about genetics and photography and record keeping. for decades. But it’s also an interesting idea Bridgerton presenter Chris Van Dusen, and one who is best suited to the work of the show.
