The Ministry of Health published this morning (Wednesday) the updated morbidity data in Corona, which show that 6,062 people were diagnosed yesterday (7.8% from 78,189 new tests). The number of verified today as of 08:46 stands at 1,349 (5.9% out of 22,798 new tests). These are relatively encouraging data, compared to the situation in early January.
706,416 were infected from the outbreak, of which 70,444 are now defined as active blue. The number of recipients of the first vaccine dose is 3,607,920 (which is 39.15% of all Israelis). 2,223,906 residents were also vaccinated in the second dose (24.13% of the population).
The number of hospitalized is 1,606, of whom 1,020 are in critical condition. Of the patients in critical condition 317 were respiratory and 388 in critical condition. The decrease in the number of hospitalized to almost 1,600 and the decrease in the number of patients severely below 1,100 is a significant relief for the hospitals.
The number of staff members verified or in isolation now stands at 1,899, of whom 106 are men and women doctors and 459 are nurses. Here, too, there is a drop below 2,000.
The death toll from the plague now stands at 5,233. The death toll rose to 35 yesterday.
As you may recall, the Corona Cabinet yesterday approved the partial opening of the education system.
