Bono, Halsey and Pharrell Williams have signed on to join the team from the upcoming live musical comedy Sing 2
The upcoming sequel to Sing 2016 looks set to add more musical talent to its already elegant set.
On Monday, it was announced that singers Bono, Pharrell Williams and Halsey had all joined the Sing 2 voice team.
The musicians are expected to play alongside returning members Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Nick Kroll.

Also to join the impressive voice line are Chelsea Peretti, Letitia Wright, Bobby Cannavale and Eric Andre.
The U2 striker has a slate to represent Clay Calloway, a revamped lion and a rock star that the main team will try to bring out of retirement to reinforce the image of their stage show in the eyes of the wolf. Jimmy Crystal, played by Cannavale.
The film sees Bono in his acting voice, after U2 songs have previously been used in several films and television programs.
Halsey talks to Porsche, Crystal ‘s teenage daughter, while Williams expects Alfonso, owner of a friendly elephant ice cream truck that becomes the first crush of Meena’ s co-elephant, played by Tori Kelly.

This feature will mark Williams ’second collaboration with Illumination, after writing the hit song Happy Grammy for the second film Despicable Me.
Peretti was cast as Crystal’s assistant and talent scout, while Andre plays a conceited yak.
The director and writers of the original film Garth Jennings are returning in the same abilities for the upcoming sequel.
Head of lighting Chris Meledandri and Janet Healey will return to realize the feature.

Meledandri reported to a deadline on the themes of Sing 2 and what the producers wanted the audience to take away from the film.

The upcoming film was originally set to be released on Christmas this year before being pushed back in April of 2019.
A year later, Sing 2 was given a release date on December 22, 2021, after its debut on July 2 was taken over by Minions: The Rise Of Gru, also released by Illumination.
