MORE FROM FORBESHere’s BlizzCon’s full ‘Overwatch’ album, featuring Sneak Peek’s ‘Overwatch 2’

A large black cloud hangs over the event from Overwatch scene, with the recent news that the sequel may not come this year. With the mainstream game suffering from a content thirst, the pressure is on Blizzard to inspire the community at BlizzCon and, more importantly, give people reasons to keep playing. I believe there is something up his alley to keep fans invested, or more of that 10 million every month Overwatch users can skip the boat.

MORE FROM FORBESBombshell ‘s’ Overwatch 2′ release date is disappointing but understandable

There are some key questions about what Team 4 plans to unveil on Friday, so let’s take a look into the crystal ball and try to find out what the developers will reveal.

Overwatch 2 release date

This is the one thing that is all Overwatch a fan wanting to find out above all else. I don’t think we’ll get much news on this front, unfortunately, with the recent bombshell. Jeff Kaplan et al may publish a 2022 release window, but it doesn’t seem like a word of a more specific timeline.

Overwatch 2 plays

This is about betting as sure as it gets. We’ll get a look for sure Overwatch 2 at BlizzConline. The official album promises a behind-the-scenes look along with improvements along with a quick look at the sequel.

We haven’t had much tea Overwatch 2 gameplay, thanks to the naming videos and climbers showing what to expect from the new competitive Push map type, as well as the players vs. environment missions. I would expect Blizzard to go into a little more detail at BlizzCon. I also suspect that we will learn more about the current capability options for the PVE modes and take a look at a new map or two.

New heroes

Blizzard has confirmed one new character for Overwatch 2: Soujourn. We expect a number of heroes to join the mix when the expansion / sequel drops, so I’d hope to have a look at at least one more of them at BlizzConline. I think we’ll see an upcoming redesign for a few of the heroes we already know and like as well. In addition, I hope to dive deeper into the talent system (i.e. normal abilities) for PVE missions.

what about Overwatch?

It looks like it will be more than two years between the news Overwatch 2 and game release date. There had been no new maps (except the elegant free platform for all Kanezaka) since they were confirmed Overwatch 2to be there. Only one hero has entered the roster since then, and the party line was that Echo may be the last hero to date Overwatch 2 arriving. I hope Blizzard looks back on that and reveals at least one new hero to it Overwatch to shake things up.

As it reveals more content for Overwatch the best that Blizzard can do to boost the fan base right now, there could be another big shift in the works: there have been some suggestions Overwatch could go free-to-play. We may get news about that at BlizzCon.

MORE FROM FORBESFree-to-play ‘Overwatch’ rumors are heating up in front of BlizzCon

There will be lots of other things to look at at BlizzCon, such as whether Blizzard will explain more about the business model for Overwatch 2 (say, will it be introduced Overwatch as DLC). Some clarity would be welcome.

I hope Blizzard does more to build on the lore and the amazing collection of characters it has collected, so I wouldn’t be mad if there is news about it Overwatch show or film. Things may get really wild and we’ll learn about it Overwatch mobile game.

In any case, we only have a few more days ahead of time Overwatch becoming a little clearer. It has been rumored that Blizzard has enough interesting updates in store to impress the fans and make sure the Overwatch an ecosystem can thrive for years to come.
