(Reuters) – BlackStone Group Inc has signed a contract to expand its presence at its Park Avenue headquarters in Manhattan, family asset manager Rudin said.
345 Park Avenue, the building where BlackStone’s main headquarters are located, has been the company’s home for more than 30 years.
BlackStone will take up an additional 80,000 square feet of office space, bringing its total ownership to approximately 720,000 square feet. He also extended his lease in the property for a further year to 2028.
“This expansion marks a major commitment by one of the leading financial industry companies and marks an important part of New York’s revitalization,” said Bill Rudin, chief executive of Rudin Management Company, the operating arm of Rudin Family Holdings .
BlackStone’s move to get more office space in Manhattan comes with the release of COVID-19 vaccines in the city.
The company had completed an expansion of nearly 150,000 square feet in the building in 2018.
Other notable tenants in the building include global analyst KPMG and the National Football League.
