Big Brother: The many faces of Rami Vered – the character we loved and hated

As Rami Vered descended the steps of the Big Brother house I thought to myself ‘here is another fading star who wants to return to consciousness and get drunk with dignity, in a world where artists who have reached old age are pushed to the margins’ (this is another important and burning issue for the column itself). I did not imagine for a moment that the comedian who dropped his horn would become the hot star of the season and surpass all the young and hot of the house, because this house has always, from the first season, belonged to young men and lovers, who grabbed the final five and won the last tenant vote and coveted title.

If the landscape had changed and an older tenant had reached the final it would have been unusual and accidental. It is sad that people in their fifties and older who have passed through, have been disappointed, developed and matured, who have dozens of times more to offer us on screen, than the madness of a tenant who does not control his temperament, or a silly affair of two hormonal tenants, do not get the stage they deserve.

It’s hard for me to label Vered as an adult despite his age, 57, because the wind blowing from him is even younger and kicks more than the nervous temperament of the barking pincher, Yehuda Yitzhakov, and his deep gaze captivates me time and time again.

Vered liked me from the first moment, even before the forbidden, surprising and intriguing affair he had with 25-year-old Linor, which he struggled with every day in an attempt to conquer his passion, so as not to realize it. If the two were now outside the Big Brother house away from the camera lenses, it would have long since ended passionately in the bedroom. Linor completely in his interest, Ward fights his teeth not to get into a situation he will regret, because the comedian’s big concern is how it will be interpreted outwardly, because of the gap between the two. This in itself proves that he is here just to play.

Last night his game stood out especially. When a survivor tried to deceive all the occupants of the house not to give Judah a chance to vote in the Big Brother room, on the pretext that he was a bad and evil man, unworthy to accept this power, without admitting that the real reason for his opposition stemmed from the fear he would put him and his girlfriend Linor out. So his great fear came true, Ward is a candidate for dismissal along with Yehuda and Ayalon, which is another issue that is not clear to me, how Ayalon has stayed at home so far and what characterizes whoever votes for him?

When Ward realized that the dismissal was already hovering over his head, he heard the advice of his friend Lior Kalfon that it was not well received outside and apologized to Yehuda for daring to respond with his tongue and threw at him “your mother is a coward.” I do not understand what and why Vered apologized for, and it is also clear to me that the apology was not honest and true, but only to come out well on screen. It did not turn out well, it just was not reliable.

But even if I was disappointed with Rebel and for a moment wondered about his pitcher and my choice of him as a favorite this season, he managed to conquer me again, in a tangled and moving personal life story of his family, which he revealed in an honest conversation with Linor. And here’s a wonderful example of how fifty-plus tenants have more to offer. Rami Vered did not use his family story to conquer the audience, as many other good people who reveal everything about the beginning do, in order to win the sympathy of the audience.

With a rose it takes a long time to peel off the various layers, in an attempt to get closer to the bleeding wounds, and they and one bleed as we were impressed last night. Because the brother survives lost, who passed away prematurely, and the bond formed with his father only in the last three years, after undergoing a stroke and precisely now when he can not speak, these alone can hold as content for an entire season. But the comedian who is willing to deceive the residents of the season will not sell his soul for the sake of the game. And for this he is highly esteemed. And so his character is versatile and interesting, who is sometimes loved and sometimes hated, and I sincerely hope to see him survive the next wash and gallop towards the coveted finale.
