Big Apple’s top executive, Andrew Yang, says he’s getting the train to the Bronx mocking on Twitter

Big Apple mayor’s candidate, Andrew Yang, sends Twitter to frenzy when he says he’s getting the train to the Bronx – a line that won’t stop there

  • New York City mayor Andrew Yang tweeted Monday that he was ‘On the A Train Bronx bound’
  • Twitter users were quick to point out that there are no A-line trains going up to the Bronx
  • The campaign later confirmed that he had moved trains to complete his journey
  • Yang joked on Twitter for posting which left some feeling ‘inauthentic’ as he tried to bring in New Yorkers before primary school in June and in the November election.

He was unable to take the A Train!

New York City mayor Andrew Yang was taken to Twitter by those who knew him as he suggested in a post that he was going to bring the famous train underground line up to the area most northerly in New York City.

‘On the A Bronx bound train’ Yang tweeted on Monday.

But social media can be ruthless, especially when anyone with an underground map sees the A train hit the buffers at 207th Street at Inwood in Manhattan.

While line A is the longest underground route in the city stretching from Far Rockaway beaches in Queens, it comes to a stop just before the Bronx, as several were on Twitter too fast to point out.

‘Dude, there is no such thing as a train with the Bronx. Can someone teach this guy about this city before it does serious damage? ‘tweeted Kas Stolzman, a lawyer from New York.

‘I will be curious to hear what Mr. Yang learns about the Bronx after his A trip, ‘he tweeted journalist Clyde Haberman. ‘When I took that train – I lived as a boy at its northern terminus – it never went to the Bronx. Not yet. ‘

‘The train doesn’t go to the Bronx. Except it’s a magic train, ’another tweeter joked.

‘If you want to be elected to New York, you know how to speak New York. ‘I’m going up to the Bronx, changing to the D at 125th. ‘No one says‘ Bronx bound ’. This is not a Pixar movie, ‘user CrazyJo tweeted.

Yang seemed to be enjoying his underground ride and put out his thoughts at a 66-block non-stop stop with no stations.

‘love flowing from 59th to 125th’, he said.

A campaign arguing for Yang confirmed that the applicant turned trains to end his journey but declined to comment on whether he knew the train did not travel to the Bronx.

Yang later posted a photo of himself eating beef brooches by Vanessa Gibson, Bronx Democratic Council, when he toured the Highbridge and Concourse areas of the city.

Yang has lived in New York City for 25 years returning when he started in law school at Columbia University, but perhaps he should be more familiar with the underground line because lives in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan area through which train A runs.

To get to the Bronx, Yang may have to change to train B, or train D at 125th or 145th Street which some people mentioned in tweets that came to Yang ‘s defense.

‘As you can see, you can move from one train to another, to get to the Bronx …’ wrote one.

‘He said the Bronx “BOUND”, not the Bronx; he must move ‘to clarify another.

His words literally mean he’s on the Bronx. I believe he could have written his own path / movement to make people feel better, ‘said one supporter.

‘The A’s not going to the Bronx !! Waaah he shouldn’t run for mayor because of one letter! Man some New Yorkers are worried about AF, ‘Danny wrote in a Twitter post.

For much of the coronavirus pandemic, Yang did not travel around the city on the subway and instead spent time at his second home in the small town of New Paltz, New York.
