On his first day in office, U.S. President Joe Biden plans to issue several orders of action, including one that lifted the controversial travel ban on several predominantly Muslim countries.
According to a memo circulated Saturday by Ron Klain, Biden’s incoming chief of staff, the new U.S. administration will reverse several moves on policies launched by U.S. President Donald Trump over first 10 days in post.
These also include new coronavirus prevention efforts, going back to the Paris climate change agreement, and immigration legislation allowing millions to gain citizenship.
Shortly after taking office in 2017, Trump issued an action order banning travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.
That order, however, was reworked several times amid legal challenges and a draft was upheld by the High Court in 2018.

Analysts say the ban could have been easily lifted as it was lifted by a primary action order and summons, although a lawsuit from conservative opponents could delay on the process.

Biden also plans to introduce new legislation to prepare for the naturalization of 11 million undocumented people currently living in the country, as well as a pledge to vaccinate 100 million people in its first 100 days in the role.
