Betar to Conte: You are no longer part of the team

Beginning of an article

The saga of Betar Jerusalem and Antoine Conte continues: This morning (Monday), the team officially informed the French player that he no longer belongs to the team. The announcement came following the Frenchman’s request to the club, who claimed that he could not come to Israel Betar sent him a letter announcing that his conduct began with the current game season, and even before that, constitutes a breach of contract – and Conte was in fact released from the club.

Conte, as is well known, is in France due to his trial which is currently underway, when he was recently sentenced to one year in prison (when the Frenchman intends to appeal). The Frenchman has not actually played for Betar since completing ninety minutes in a 0: 4 victory over Hapoel Hadera, about a month ago (January 6). In the two games played since then, against Kiryat Shmona and Hapoel Tel Aviv, he was not a partner.

It is important to note that this message to Conte does not come in a vacuum: Betar is looking for a vacancy in the squad, in order to add new foreign players (Diego Vardska has also been frozen in order to sign Montenegrin Marko Jankovic). Ali Muhammad, Glaofilo Hasselbaink, Santiago Ocampus, Matausinio (not in the country), Vardska and Conte. Jankovic is in fact the seventh foreigner, with Betar only allowed to sign six. The Portuguese and French liberation should make way for Montenegro and another foreigner.
