Best Netflix Movies of 2021 (February edition)

Each week, several movies come and go from the Netflix platform. At the moment, there are nearly 4,000 film choices – and dozens of these films have come out in 2021 alone. Some capture Netflix audiences in large numbers, and most of them disappear.

What raises the question: which films stood out the most? What movies were actually viral in the Netflix library? What movies were rated as the best the ones available in 2021?

Unfortunately, there is no definitive way to gain experience. Netflix holds tight to its numbers. And with Netflix gaining more and more subscribers each passing month, it can be difficult to quantify the movies that captured the highest percentages of Netflix listeners.

That was until Netflix entered its Top 10 list. These charts allowed me to build a Top 10 formula that assigns points based on daily movie ratings. Over time, I monitor the overall score of each film to see which ones have performed so well. The beauty of this system is that it puts all movies on a level playing field. So no matter how many Netflix subscribers there are, every movie works with the same point threshold.

I updated those rankings through 2020, which led to this year’s end list.

And now I’m doing the same for 2021. At the end of each month, I’ll update the annual rankings here on Forbes. So for this story, we’ll focus on which films have dominated the first two months of the year.

First, let’s run through the rankings in February. Compared to January – a month when We can be heroes run away with the # 1 spot – the chase for first place was much tighter in February:

  1. Dogs of war – 132 points
  2. We can be heroes – 120 points
  3. For all boys: Always and forever – 116 points
  4. Finding Ohana – 113 points
  5. AlI care a lot – 79 points
  6. l About the Benjamins – 77 points
  7. Secret Life of Pets 2 – 71 points
  8. Are we still there? – 66 points
  9. The Dig – 63 points
  10. Red Dot – 56 points

Dogs of war he only spent four days in first place this month, but has also appeared on the top 10 all-day records of his 19-day run so far. And at this point, the film seems to have a better Top 10 longevity than movies like To all boys: Always and forever.

Over Dogs of war, Robert Rodriguez’s We can be heroes They have continued the incredible run and have spent every February of the top 10 records.

Now on to the current annual ratings. Up to this point in 2021, according to my system, here are the top 25 movies on Netflix:

  1. We can be heroes – 346 points
  2. Finding Ohana – 138 points
  3. Dogs of war – 132 points
  4. The Vanished – 124 points

  11. Unknown – 90 points
  12. Next three days – 88 points
  13. The Dig – 87 points
  14. Penguins of Madagascar – 83 points
  15. I Care a Lot – 79 points
  16. All about the Benjamins – 77 points
  17. Are we still there? – 66 points
  18. Below Zero – 66 points
  19. Cut City Throat – 58 points
  20. Female Pieces – 58 points
  21. Pinkfong & Baby Shark Space Adventure – 57 points
  22. Red Dot – 56 points
  23. Malcolm & Marie – 56 points
  24. Talks Money – 50 points
  25. 30 minutes or less – 49 points

No doubt, We can be heroes has been the special film of the year. The film recently broke the Top 10 record by hitting the charts for 57 consecutive days (that streak has now reached 63 days). In total, the film has accumulated 411 points – which is just 18 points away from making it the most popular movie on Netflix in the top 10. We should see We can be heroes apply for that record by the end of the week.

Beyond that, Finding Ohana we have had an amazing year quietly. Despite only reaching first place on the daily charts, the 24-day stint of the family-friendly film on the Top 10 surpassed it by almost every other film on Netflix. On the full-time Top 10 charts, Finding Ohana currently at level 26.

The other big winners this year have been The Vanished, who has spent 19 days on the records, and To all boys: Always and forever, who appear to be ready to leave the top 10 after just 15 days.

Last but not least, there seems to be a dark horse candidate this year Secret Life of Pets 2. The animated film has spent 29 days on the top 10 albums of 2021, with a total of 71 days going back to 2020. On the full-length albums, Secret Life of Pets 2 tenth classes.
