Benyon, Alberman or Zer: Who will be the next technical director of the team?

Beginning of an article

The appointment of Willy Rotensteiner as coach of the Israeli national team until 2022 drew quite a few criticisms, but members of the management of the Football Association approved the recommendation of the search committee by a majority of votes. Now, the sports channel reveals the two Israeli names that are on the agenda to be appointed technical director, if it is decided not to go for a foreign technical director, which is also an option in the picture.

Earlier it was reported that Rotensteiner prefers a foreigner, but the Football Association is pushing to appoint an Israeli. Two that the chairman, Oren Hasson, thinks can fit are Gal Alberman and Yossi Benyon.

This is a position without touching the senior team as long as Rotensteiner is the coach, so those same sources think that Benyon, who is highly valued, would prefer not to take on the role. In conversations with the search committee, Benyon’s name came up. Eli Ohana and Shino Zuarez claimed he was the right man for the job, should it be decided that Rotensteiner would be credible.

The Austrian, who went out to celebrate Christmas in Austria, will not be able to return to the country until the end of the closure, but the Football Association does not intend to wait for him to make decisions about the position of technical director or coaches for the young teams.

Rotensteiner wants to leave Alon Hazan by his side, but if the latter refuses, then he will be appointed coach of the young team. Gadi Bromer, one of the people closest to the Austrian may receive the youth team and Ofir Haim is destined for the boys team. All the coaches of the young teams will also work in the academies and will join Guy Azouri who is already there. The young team’s coach, Nir Levin, will end his contract at the end of the month and will not continue.
