Former Minister Benny Begin announced today (Thursday) that he has joined a new Tikva party led by Gideon Saar.
In a joint photo statement he published with Saar, Begin said: “In recent years, and especially in the last year, we have witnessed a strange and dangerous phenomenon. And the way to stop it is by replacing the government. “
“I was therefore happy when my friend Gideon decided to take this bold step, to establish a new political framework to bring about a change of government,” Begin added. “We have an opportunity to do this in the upcoming elections, and everyone has a duty to participate in this effort and bring about a change of government in Israel.”
Saar said that “Benny Begin does not need to be introduced. Benny will be an important force in the battle for the future of the state and in preserving its values. It is important that Israel can enjoy its rich experience, its wisdom, its judgment and the values it represents.”
The Likud said in response that “no matter who Saar will add to his list – the picture is clear: Gideon has no government without Lapid and the rest of the left. Only the Likud will form a full-fledged right-wing government.”
The chairman of the Likud faction, MK Miki Zohar, added: “There is no doubt that Benny Begin’s joining will ensure the necessary correction in the system at trial. or not. Meridor is eagerly awaited to complete the important task of bringing about the necessary revolution in the justice system. Forgive me for the cynicism, but it is simply requested. “
