‘It was hard to explain to the wife!’ GMB’s Ben Shephard left shouting as a throwback to POLE-DANCING by Dannii Minogue in 2002 air
Ben Shephard was left shouting on Good Morning Britain on Thursday when Susanna Reid found a snippet of him learning pole dancing with Dannii Minogue.
Ben, 46, looked flustered as whimsical Susanna, 50, played the throwback clip in 2002 as she revealed he had a degree in dance.
She said: ‘This is for people who don’t realize that Ben Shephard is equipped to do Strictly Come Dancing because he did a degree in dance, which he admitted to Kate Thornton in her white wine [Question Time] podcast.

‘It has come as a big surprise to a lot of people but not to those of us who know what a unique dancer he is.
‘And someone has just contacted Ben to say you’ve found the most impressive piece of dance – that’s when you went pole dancing with Dannii Minogue. Oh, we can get it in the archives, though. ‘
The clip showed Ben showing the strength of his thigh as he wrapped his legs around a pole as Dannii giggling did the same.
Ben was seen struggling to hold his post before slipping slowly out of the pole.

He said: ‘You can’t get away with anything these days, can you? I think that’s important too.
‘Since Dannii was single at the time, she was pole dancing, so she invited me to come. Her album!
Ben then jokingly revealed that he was facing strange questions from his wife Anna when he came home from work.
He said: ‘Look, can I say, at least, the sad thing about that is explaining the burning of the thigh to my wife at home. She said, “What have you been doing at work today?” I said, “Well … ” ‘

Susanna said: ‘I went pole dancing with Dannii Minogue, of course! That is an impressive strength. ‘
Ben said: ‘These are some of the strongest basic controls you can have. And that was a happy memory, the good old days. Do you remember when you could go pole dancing with Susanna’s celebrities? ‘
Susanna replied: ‘No! But I look forward to their return. ‘
