In the midst of the championship battle, Maccabi Haifa is interested in giving Barak Bachar the blessing of the road – also for next season: the official signing has not yet been achieved, but it is already clear that the Greens coach will continue in Carmel in 2022. Haifa is very pleased with the work of Bachar, who signed a contract for one season, and it is possible that the extension will be even beyond the next season. Bachar, who replaced Marco Belbul in the summer, stands ahead of the top playoffs with a one-point lead at the top of the table, with the most prolific offense (52 goals), strongest defense (20) and 76% success rate so far.
As you may recall, already at the signing ceremony Bachar revealed that he is a fan of the team and thus fulfilled a dream to coach it. There is a mutual appreciation between him and the president, Yaakov Shachar. He enjoys the Carmel and enjoys a good work environment. Maccabi Haifa praised the success so far, the appreciation from the players as well as the cultivation of young players such as Maor Levy, Stav Nachmani and Nehorai Yifrach. Although the season is still far from over, and the main goal (championship after a decade) has not yet been achieved, Bachar has already taken root in the foam training complex.
Meanwhile, Maccabi Haifa may return to the squad of next season the offensive brake, David Aqua, who was loaned this season to Hapoel Nof Hagalil from Leumit. Aqua is recording a pretty good season, but the fact that he is a foreigner makes the professional team think before making a decision, as Bogdan Planic will be included in the squad for next season.
The Greens currently have six foreigners, but Yannick Wildshot and Ernest Mabuka are not expected to continue unless they show a significant improvement in their ability in the playoffs. Aqua may return at the expense of one of them. The loan brake and the Galilee landscape are making a force nationally and may qualify for the Premier League. The club will want to continue the contract with the Northerners if they qualify for the senior league.
