While the other Maccabi Haifa players understood with understanding the punishment they received from the Football Association’s court after the derby events last week, as part of the plea deal, Dolev Haziza did not agree with the decision.
A Maccabi Haifa player posted a post on social media in which he continues to claim that he did not take an active part in the brawl, and is even willing to undergo a polygraph examination at his own expense.
Maccabi Haifa explained: “Regarding Dolev Haziza, we had a difficult deliberation regarding the plea deal. We believe wholeheartedly in Dolev’s version that he did not raise a hand. We have no doubt about that. The referee’s report states that he saw Dolev. “To our understanding, the judge (Liran Liani) erred in his identification, at the same time we understood that in the trial itself Dolev could be punished and we acted to minimize the damage caused, even though Dolev was not involved in the fight.”
Haziza was sent off for three games, apart from the upcoming game against Hapoel Umm al-Fahm which he will lose due to the accumulation of yellow cards.
