Barr stopped after refusing to push Donald Trump’s election fraud claims

Former Attorney General Bill Barr told President Donald Trump in December that his bogus fraud claims were ‘bull ** t’ and that his legal team was collection ‘clownish. ‘

Axios reported Monday on the fallout between Trump and Barr, who resigned from the Justice Department on December 23rd.

The relationship began to deteriorate in the summer when the president wanted to deploy an armed force against Black Lives Matter demonstrators in big cities like Portland, Barr’s inclination to push back.

Barr, according to an Axios report, thought Trump’s comments were too aggressive and similar to their conversations with the movie ‘Groundhog Day,’ in that the same arguments happened over and over again.

Trump threw tantrums when Barr questioned what he would do with soldiers in major U.S. cities.

Barr pointed out that the soldiers could be lost in Portland and other cities endlessly.

‘No one supports me,’ Trump shouted at one point. ‘Nobody supports me f *** ing.’

Axios said Barr acted as a ‘heat shield’ between the president and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.

Milley and Esper, like Barr, thought it was a bad idea to send troops to Portland.

After a summer of fighting, Barr tried to avoid Trump during the fall.

And the attorney general was largely successful because the president was on the campaign trail so big.

But after the Nov. 3 election, Trump needed Barr to push his election fraud statement.

Barr had asked the DOJ to speed up federal investigations into election fraud claims, but that was not enough for Trump – as the witnesses that investigators were seeking were not there.

On Nov. 29, Trump announced DOJ at Barr ‘missing in action’ on Fox News Channel.

The messages infuriated Barr, Axios reported.

In turn, Barr interviewed Associated Press reporter Michael Balsamo, where he publicly said there was no widespread election fraud.

Barr knew the story could go live as he was about to attend a meeting in the White House on 1 December.

And Trump criticized it over the AP headline: ‘Trump controversy, Barrs says there is no widespread election fraud’.

‘Why would you say such a thing? You have to hate Trump. There is no other reason for it. You have to hate Trump, ‘the president replied, speaking in a third person, Axios reported.

Barr replied, ‘These things are not coming out. ‘

‘The stuff these people are filling your ear with is just not true,’ he said, according to Axios.

Barr explained that the DOJ had looked into these false claims that Trump lawyers like Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell were peddling.

‘It’s just bulls,’ said Barr.

‘I’m a very informed legal observer and I can’t figure out what the theory is here,’ continued Barr. ‘It’s just a scattershot. He is across the mountain and away. ‘

Trump replied with ‘, maybe.’

Barr stopped before Christmas because he did not want his private disagreements to go public, Axios said.

On Dec. 14, Barr met with Trump and said he’d better take a step back.
