The late Baron Benjamin de Rothschild was born on July 30, 1963 to Barons Edmund and Nadine de Rothschild.
Since 1997, the late Baron Benjamin has headed the group founded by his father and developed and expanded its business and philanthropic activities to an extraordinary extent. The late Baron Benjamin, stood out as a visionary entrepreneur, a renowned expert in the fields of finance and innovation, as well as being an active philanthropist who continued the family’s legacy and contributed greatly to the strengthening of Israeli society. In his variety of activities, Baron Benjamin de Rothschild persevered in cultivating the heritage of the Rothschild dynasty for generations.
In recent years, the late Baron has focused on formulating the group’s vision for the coming years, with his Baroness wife, Arian de Rothschild, in charge of the day – to – day running of the group’s business and philanthropic endeavors.
The Edmund de Rothschild Investment Group operates according to the strategy outlined by Baron Benjamin and Baroness Arian de Rothschild, to capitalize on building a better future world. The group specializes in private banking, asset management and capital for international families and clients, entrepreneurs and institutional investors. 32 offices around the world, manages assets worth 173 billion Swiss francs (about 160 billion euros) and employs about 2,600 people.
In Israel, the group operates the Edmund de Rothschild Investment House (Israel) and is mainly active in philanthropy – through the Edmond de Rothschild Fund, founded by Baron Edmund de Rothschild, Baron Benjamin’s father.
The Edmund de Rothschild Foundation, to which the Rothschild family transferred tens of thousands of dunams of land in the Caesarea area without any consideration, embodies the family lineage’s commitment since the days of the “known benefactor” and works to strengthen Israeli society through unprecedented donations to promote higher education in Israel.
In the years in which Baron Benjamin and Baroness Arian de Rothschild lead the activities of the foundation, the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation has contributed more than NIS 1 billion to reduce gaps in Israeli society and promote excellence in it. Over the past year, the late Baron Benjamin and his wife Baroness Arian de Rothschild have also joined To fight Corona – among other things and to make a contribution of more than NIS 70 million by the Fund for Research and Purchase of Protective Equipment for Medical Staff in Hospitals throughout Israel.
