Bahrain GP restricts ticket sales to fans of vaccinated and COVID-19 recovered

Tickets have been sold for the Formula One season opening the Bahrain Grand Prix but are restricted to people who have either been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have contracted the virus.

The race takes place on March 28 and starts this year’s 23-race season.

Formula One has always insisted that it will welcome fans back to races when it is safe to do so, but Bahrain is the first place to restrict ticket sales to recipients. vaccines and those who have recovered.

Bahrain International Circuit said the decision was made “in accordance with government health advice” and those who buy tickets must be able to determine their eligibility through Bahrain’s BeAware app.

Vaccine testers must have two-week intervals between the second dose and arrival.

Cases detected must be two clear weeks from the date of infection and within eight months of their last positive COVID test result.

It is not clear how many tickets are on sale but purchase is limited to the main venue on the direct pit and the Turn 1 turning point.

A statement said outdoor food, drink and fan experiences were chosen “carefully to allow for improved social pace and hygiene measures”.

Health screening is required on entry to the center and a mask with mandatory clothing at all times.
